What’s Workplace Bullying?

We Just Want It To Stop

The Australian Federal Government has ordered the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education and Employment to conduct a national inquiry into workplace bullying last year which resulted in over 300 submissions received mainly from victims of bullying across the country. The report entitled “Workplace Bullying: We just want it to stop” was tabled in Parliament on 26 November 2012 and is available from the Commitee’s website:

Brodie’s Law

The report makes reference to the nationalisation of Brodie’s Law (criminalisation of workplace bullying) which has been enacted in Victoria after the suicide of workplace bullying victim, 19 year-old Brodie Panlock in 2006.

Further information, including submissions can be viewed at

Welcome to a Clear Focus Counselling website!

My name is Hank van den Berghe, I am a married man with a wonderful wife Ruth, who keeps me balanced, and 5 adult children.

My studies have ranged from a Degree in Ministry, Grad. Dip in Counselling, Certified Hypnotherapist, EFT Practioner, Life Coach, Christian Mediation and Life Keys facilitator and trainer. I am a registered Counsellor with Australian Counselling Association and Christian Counselling Association Australia but enough of that stuff.

My desire is to help people move from where they are to where they want to be! This often takes many forms and addresses a wide range of human unhelpful behaviour. I have been blessed with many flattering testimonials to the results of working with people, so I hope that you may feel a little assured that you are in qualified and safe hands.

I stand firmly by the counsellors motto of “do no harm to any”.

As a committed Christian, I believe that I am maturing in my Christian walk and so can offer many insights into our world from a biblical perspective, one of the few absolutes that is left in the world today. While my belief has me firmly grounded, I am not one to impose my beliefs on another, as is appropriate for a counsellor, but I will express those views if and when asked.

If you allow me to accompany you on your journey in life, rest assured that the challenges will be met as a team and I will help you every step of the way.

With warmest regards, and blessings,

Hank …
